ABOUT
ME
First Name: Lauren
Nickname: My niece calls me LaLa but that’s because she cannot pronounce my name yet and many people call me Sherman.
Hometown: Reading, PA
Occupation: I currently am a full time student at East Stroudsburg University, where I will graduate from this May. I work at the health center located on my college campus and I also waitress.
Education: I’m currently in my last semester at ESU. I graduate in May with a double major in nursing and psychology.
Hobbies: I love to cook, watch movies, and dance! I also like to read, work out and spend time with my family and friends.
Dance/Cheer Performance Experience: I cheered most of my life. I started cheering for Muhlenberg football when I was five and continued up in till after I graduated from high school. I also danced for the Dance Gallery from 9 till about 12 years of age.
Favorite Movie: Notebook, Crash, SWAT, Stepbrothers, P.S. I love you, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Sweet home Alabama.
I am Happiest When: I am at home spending time with my family watching movies, eating dinner together, or watching my niece act silly!
Sweats or Dress: I love them both but I guess I would have to go with sweats! There are just way more comfortable.
Most people don't know: Most people don’t know that I still have my baby blanket from when I was born and I still sleep with it. My Nanny made it so it is extra special to me!
Favorite Dessert: Hot apple crisp pie with vanilla ice cream on top!
Dream Vacation: Europe. I want to go there and travel to all different areas especially Italy, Greece, and Paris. They are just such beautiful places!
Favorite Store: I defiantly don’t have one favorite but some of the stores I like include Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Wet Seal, and H&M.
Most Embarrassing Moment: My second year in college when I was running in the parking lot to me car with my friends because it was too cold to walk and I tripped and went face first into the gravel and slide like two feet which consisted of like two flips. Everyone saw me fall. I had people yelling out their dorm rooms to see if I was ok while they were all cracking up laughing. It was horribly embarrassing but totally funny! I still laugh about it till this day.
Most Unusual Job: Working at a bingo hall where I called numbers and collected money.
What would you like to be doing in 5 years: I plan to be working as an RN in a hospital possibly in labor and delivery or critical care. I possibly could be back in school by this point to become a nurse practitioner or a midwife so I can eventually perform deliveries. I plan to be living by myself with at least one puppy dog. Traveling a lot and just enjoying life!
My Passions: My passion is definitely nursing. I love my career. I love knowing that I have made a difference in someone’s life everyday that I am in the hospital. It is just so rewarding.
Proudest Accomplishment: graduating college with a double major in nursing and psychology. It has not been easy and I am very proud that I have worked hard to accomplish my goal and dream!
Favorite Quote: Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we do fall. Another quote I really like is that the toughest part of getting to the top of the ladder, is getting through the crowd at the bottom.
Biggest Pet Peeve: Messy people. I am somewhat of a neat freak. I like my room clean, I like my stuff being in a certain place, I like everything to look nice and I dislike when people leave messes all over the place. It’s simple and easy to clean up after yourself.
Best Advice Ever Given, and from Whom: Always try to better yourself, there is never an end, you can always become a better you! Only you can improve the person you are so strive every day to do something positive and to develop and progress into a better individual then you were before. This has all been said to me from my dad. He has always given me really good advice throughout the years, it was just the point of me actually listening to him! I definitely wish I would have listened the first time he gave me words of wisdom but I totally get it now. Thanks DAD!!
